Bluestone Patio – Jamaica Plain

Skills: We were looking for a simple redesign of our small backyard patio which would increase sitting space, provide more sun, and replace the hardscape surface. Jed provided a lot of great ideas after his first visit, and we were very comfortable with his design ideas and estimate after shopping around. His team replaced older cement tiles with bluestone, provided edging, removed some trees which were providing too much shade and replanted with lower lying shrubs and plants. It resulted in a patio that can have more sun, which we don't get enough of living in New England! Jed knew that we weren't interested in too much gardening or maintenance, so the plantings that he left for us are easy to maintain and won't take much work at all. He also created a few areas that would help with better drainage. We are overall very pleased with Jed's responsiveness, design ideas, communication on his work, and overall installation. I wasn't sure that such a tiny space could be upgraded and transformed as nicely as it did! Thank you!

At this home in Jamaica Plain, the homeowners weren’t happy with an unattractive and cramped concrete patio. With a redesign of the layout, more attractive materials, and some simple plantings, they now have a backyard they can really enjoy.
