At this home in Cambridge the entry deck/stairs were made of poured concrete with iron railings that had begun to rust away. After removing the old railings we wrapped the concrete platform with mahogany decking, trim, and railings. Cobble stones were used for the ground level landing and to retain planter beds.
The walkways at either side of the house were muddy and in need of hardscape. Seeking a natural aesthetic the homeowner decided to use irregular bluestone which we laid in stepping stone fashion. The whole area was excavated and filled with crushed stone and stone dust to ensure longevity, the stones were laid, and the area topped with soil for grass and moss to grow.
